On February 5, the General Manager Department of CHEC’s Ampang Light Rail Project in Kuala Lumpur made a good start of the New Year, and it won the second prize in the comparison and appraisal of “2014 HSE Management” held in the general contractor GKLP.
The winning of this award fully affirmed the efforts of the General Manager Department of the project in safety, occupational health and environmental protection management in 2014. Among the four sub-contractors, CHEC overcame many difficulties, such as untimely offline delivery, crack on the bridge floor and deviation of pre-embedded steel bar and safely and efficiently completed the most work amount with a high quality and met the requirement of the general contractor for safety and progress while guaranteeing HSE zero accident. Other sub-contractors had such problems as delay of varying degrees. At present, the flash welding construction of 8.3km steel rails of the first stage of the project and the construction of over-5000m track bed; the construction of other sub-projects has successfully started.
