On 17 February, the Company successfully signed a contract for the dredging of the harbor channel of Dar es Salaam Port in Tanzania. The duration of the project is 30 months and the main work includes sunken vessel salvage, dredging of the harbor basin and channel, procurement and installation of navigation aids, etc. The total dredging volume is about 8.4 million cubic meters.
This project is another World Bank project won by CHEC through fierce competition with four major European dredging companies after Dar es Salaam Harbour No. 1-7 Berths Reconstruction and Expansion Project, on the supposition of overcoming the adverse impact of the epidemic. The successful signing of this contract has further strengthened the good partnership between CHEC and the Tanzanian Port Authority, the Tanzanian Ministry of Transport and other relevant government departments of Tanzania, and consolidated CHEC’s dominant position in the Tanzanian and East African hydraulic markets.
